Of course it can't be simple and worry free. We had our ultrasound today and our little baby was there and we saw the heartbeat. We were very reassured and happy about that...until she started questioning me about the date of my last period. She finally told us the baby we thought was 9 weeks today only measured 5 weeks 6 days. I definitely know the date of my last period, so we started talking about me ovulating late, which I did with Mia. But that would be odd since I took Clomid to conceive. I took a faint, positive pregnancy test on Sept 22, and the progesterone test they did on September 15 indicated I hadn't fertilized an egg yet, so it makes sense from that standpoint, but it would mean I got a positive test really, really early.
So they drew blood to test my progesterone levels to make sure they are high enough, although if they aren't there is nothing we can do since I already take progesterone supplements. Hopefully we'll get those results tomorrow. They will also do another ultrasound in two weeks to see if the baby is growing properly. So I'm back to being nervous, although I was so happy to see that heartbeat. Just would have been great if all was well this time. Regardless, the new due date is June 23 and we have ourselves a Bean!

Baby stuff
The nausea is getting stronger. I am going to have to start eating more frequently because it’s worse when I’m hungry. The food doesn’t make it go away, but it does ease it a bit. I woke up at 5:30 this morning, nauseated. At least I’m not vomiting and peeing my pants at work. So I’m counting my blessings!
Mia is now saying lots of short phrases. Her favorite is “’Mon Reese!” or “’Mon Mommy!” when she wants us to “come on “with her. “I don’t know” is another favorite, and “Love you Daddy”. I have realized how often I say “cool” because that has become a word she repeats every time she hears me say it.
She named another of her babies. Mickey, Abby and Bob sleep with her every night, along with the One Who Has Not Been Named. So the other night while we were pushing the babies around the house in the stroller I asked her the baby’s name. She replied, “Mommy.” I thought that was so sweet! So I said, “Well, I’m Mommy. Why don’t we give her a different name so it won’t be confusing to her? What about Molly?” So Molly she is.
We’re going to Gatlinburg next weekend with Mom, Bruce, Missy, Paul and Cara. I’m wondering how Miss Mia will do on such a long car ride. We’re going to get some DVDs, but usually those don’t occupy her for long. I guess we’ll have to get out frequently so she doesn’t get tired of sitting. Not sure what else will work, unless we keep her up all night so she’ll sleep in the car. Or drug her. Suggestions?

Weekend
Feeling a bit nauseated today, and I even ate breakfast, which usually immediately calms it down. Not feeling so hot when I stand up either. Is this some morning sickness??
Had a great, relaxing weekend. Friday night we had girls night and I took Mia. Kim, Missi, Margo and Amiee all had their kiddos there too, and it was so much fun to see them all together. Except for Margo’s baby, Mia was the youngest. She still doesn’t interact much when she plays, but she was so excited to be around them all. She especially loved Kim’s doggies, which I heard her calling “Geesie!”.
Saturday Mike went camping with the guys and Mia and I played at home. That afternoon I took her to Mom’s where she stayed the night. Yesterday Mom and Bruce took her to a festival at Farmington. When I brought her home, we went for a walk with Mike. Mia doesn’t really like to be pushed around in her stroller anymore. Instead she wants to walk, so it’s a battle to keep her out of the street, keep her moving forward, keep her out of the neighbors’ mulch, etc. She just wants to explore so we let her as much as possible. We let her push her stroller and that distracts her a bit too, but needless to say, our walks aren’t very long!

6 Weeks Pregnant
I was six weeks pregnant on Tuesday and still no signs of morning sickness. Of course it has me a little worried and I wish they would have stuck with the original plan to start doing ultrasounds to look for the heartbeat right away. Instead I have to wait until October 27, when I'll be nine weeks. My OB doctor is on maternity leave herself and will be back by then, plus it will be Missy's birthday, so hopefully those things will be good luck charms for us.
Of course I've had no indications that anything is wrong either. No spotting or cramping. Just getting nice and big very quickly. Every day this week I have worn either a maternity shirt or pants to work. I can't wear both a regular top and regular pants because regular pants squeeze my waist too tight. At least a maternity top will hide the muffin top!
I've been a little more tired than usual, and have had a little indigestion and constipation (fun, fun) but otherwise it's all fine. Keep saying prayers for our little bebe, that all is well.

Methods of communication
I just read Missy’s blog about how Cara is letting them know when she’s gone “poo poo” by either saying the words or by grabbing herself, and I thought I would share Mia’s new way of communicating to us that she’s gone poo poo. It begins with Mia sticking her hand down the back of her diaper. Then she pulls out her poo-covered hand to look at it a little bit. If we happen to see her and freak out, she squeals in delight, running away from us and inevitably streaking poo poo on a wall or something as she goes. If she’s feeling a little more subdued and we don’t happen to be watching her, she’ll simply stick her hands down her pants, pull out some poo and wipe it on her leg or some other body part, then continue playing with her toys. The other night it was apparently quite awhile before we caught on to her “signal” because she had dried poo all over her leg and her stool. Not quite the sophisticated communication system we would like. Now, there are times when she lets us know “I poop” so we’re hoping she opts to continue with that format moving forward. Hopefully her cousin will have a little talk with her next time they are together.

I love you
Mia is starting to give kisses more liberally. She will kiss us bye-bye. She gives the dogs kisses before she leaves. She also kissed a little boy in her room before leaving daycare yesterday! A little kissing bandit, our girl. Of course her kissing spell comes right at flu season, so we may have to redirect her back to blowing kisses until spring!
She also said “I love you” yesterday. They were the sweetest words I’ve ever heard! Mike and I just laughed and hugged all over her. She sure knows how to melt our hearts.
Speaking of “I love you”, today is the three year anniversary of my marriage to Mike. It has been an adventurous three years and we’ve been through quite a lot in a short amount of time. I am blessed to have such a wonderful husband and father to my child. I love you and I’m very happy to be your wife!

House
So, one night last week I couldn't sleep because my hips were aching so badly. I told Mike it felt like they were spreading and it really hurt. Well, I took my measurements today, and my hips have grown 3/4 inch! Also, my belly is 2 inches larger...in less than two weeks!!!! What is going on??? I have not gone crazy with eating, so this is blowing me away. I'm scared I'm going to be as big as a house!!!

A belly already???
My belly is already big! It is not just me thinking my belly is huge. I was in a meeting today and one girl walked in and I thought she was going to fall over. She could not stop staring at it. She said, “Oh my god Dawn, how is your belly so big already?” Another one said she noticed yesterday that my boobs looked bigger. We started the meeting 10 minutes late because every time a new person walked in they would stop and stare at my belly and we’d have to start the discussion all over. I even wore black pants, a black shirt and a sweater to try to hide it. But it is totally obvious. I honestly look like I did when I was almost 4 months pregnant with Mia! I wore maternity pants today just to be more comfortable. I feel like there are 6 kids in there or something. This is crazy. I’d just lost 5 pounds right before I found out I was pregnant and everyone was telling me how skinny I looked. Less than two weeks later I’m in maternity pants??
